Starting a London League: Beauty & The Beast
The CrossFit community is rapidly growing in London and a number of boxes are keen to get a CrossFit London League up and running. We have decided to launch an initial competition in 2013 to get the ball rolling and bring together the London CrossFit community for some healthy competition.
Each box will run two qualifications WODS to select and scale 8 teams of 2 (1 male/ 1 female) to represent their box.
Event Details:
Competition Date: Sunday 1st December 2013
Venue: Crossfit Bold, 1a Haslemere Industrial Estate, Ravensbury Terrace, Earlsfield, London, SW18 4HS
Registration time: 10am (last registration 10:30am)
Competing Boxes:
Box Requirements
- Each box is responsible for selecting 8 teams of male/female athletes (this can be top 8 teams or first come first serve basis – Boxes discretion) – submit all team and athletes full names by 22nd of November 2013
- All teams must complete and submit times for both qualification WODs hosted at their box
- Each box to provide 4 judges for competition day – please submit names and contact details to [email protected] by 17th November 2013
Cost & Registration
Each successful qualifying team will need to register here and pay £20 an entry fee
Event Format
40 teams of male/female [8 teams from each competing box]
Qualification WODs
- Each team to complete both qualification WODs (see below)
- Qualifying team WOD times to be submitted each box by 17.11.13
- Qualification WOD times will rank each box’s teams and divide them into three groups for competition GROUP A (3 teams); GROUP B (3 teams); GROUP C (2 teams)
Competition Format
- Each team will compete 3 HEAT WODs in their group.
- Team winners will be best cumulative ranked team across all three heats from each group; A. B and C.
- BOX FINAL – the best teams from each gym to compete
Post Event
- There will be a BBQ after the event (free to competitors, cost to non- competitors)
- BYO drink
