A Busy Month at Momentum Training

Posted 1st February 2014 by Josh Schouten

January is over and what a busy month it has been at Momentum Training. We have had a fantastic intake of new members keen to get on-board with CrossFit, Met-con, Barbell Club and Skills classes. The Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday CrossFit Foundations classes have been fully booked out, and both Tom and Jenna have been getting some excellent feedback for their coaching and tekkers.

As we all know the gym has been a little crazy, as we have been running the foundations classes alongside the existing program. As part of the foundation package new members also have unlimited access to the Met-con classes, hence they have also been busy. To cater for whit we increase the capacity of the met-con class to be 30 people, and it seems to be running smoothly. As a circuit based classes with set stations the large class sizes have had some very positive feedback. Members are enjoying the high energy levels, the “slight” competitive aspect of working in partner, and of course the new friendships that are being made amongst the members of out AWESOME community. Not to mention the motivation, sweat and exhaustion shared during a solid hour of met-con.

As the new years resolutions dust starts to settle, our new members will distribute themselves across the large number of Momentum classes available each week. We are confident that the gym will not feel as crowded. Many of our morning classes and late evening classes currently have plenty of space. The busy classes seem to be Monday and Tuesday 18:30 and Saturday morning classes. There will have multiple coaches at all of these classes to keep the standard of coaching to the high standards expected by our members. Please note that it is vital you book into each class, as we must limit the number for safety and quality.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind members that doing two classes back-to-back is NOT allowed (the only exception to this will be the CrossFit Skills classes). As health and fitness coaches we are here to make sure you are all taking care of yourselves and training smart. The Momentum Training team has years of experience behind them and we practice what we preach. Unless you can explain why training for 2hours is beneficial for your health and overall fitness goals, DON’T DO IT!

We look forward to training all of you in 2014 and we know that if you can stick to the program, eat well, and sleep well; you will continue to get stronger, leaner and fitter. So bring on 2014!!
