How many strict pull-ups can you do?

How can you improve your numbers?

Can you do kipping pull-ups, if so how many?

Should you be doing them?

How efficient are you at kipping pull-ups?

Can you butterfly?

How many butterfly pull-ups can you do?

So much to learn, practice and improve. Whats the best bang for your buck exercises you can do to improve your pull-ups?

All these question can and will be answers over the next 4 weeks of CrossFit Hackney Skills.

Week 1 (06/04/2014):

Test strict pull-ups?

Strict pull-ups, a licence to kip!

Neutral grip, supinated grip, pronated grip, mixed grip, the why and how?

How to build the strength? How to use them for hypertrophy?

Using the right muscles?

The gun show!!

How often, how many, a periodised plan to improve your pull-up strength…

Week 2 (13/04/2014 & 17/04/2014):

Practice strict pull-ups

Introduce the kipping aspect (rings and bar)

Mobility to improve the position

Position, movement, speed and load!!  Understanding the movement and the risks

The gun show continues!

Week 3 (20/04/2014 & 24/04/2014):

Practice strict pull-ups

Test kipping pull-ups

Add different grips to kipping and why you might do this?

Introduce butterfly pull-ups

Week 4 (27/04/2014 & 31/04/2014):

Practice strict pull-ups

Practice kipping with different grips

Test butterfly pull-ups

The skill transfer to bar and ring muscle-ups
