Welcome to CrossFit Engineering

Posted 25th September 2014 by Josh Schouten

So you’ve found a weakness and you want to fix it?

“My dips suck and I need to be able to do ring dips.” “How will I ever get the time to practice?”

Welcome to the new CrossFit Engineering (CFE) classes. The CFE classes have been designed to help athletes of all levels learn the technique and build the strength required to perfrorm the many different movements of CrossFit.

The CrossFit Hackney CFE classes will teach the ins-and-outs, ups-and-downs of the CrossFit fundimentals including; power lifting, Olympic lifting, CrossFit Endurance, gymnastics skills and everything CrossFit related (i.e. Kettlebells , DU, Box Jumps…). A typical CFE class will allow members to spend 30-40 minutes focusing on mobility, progressions, strength and the skills linked to the dedicated movement(s) programmed in each class. CFE will include warm ups, mobility drills, strength and skill sections relevant to the selected movement(s). Pre-hab work will also make an appearance in these classes, because who doesn’t like a bicep curl?

CFE classes will also include a WOD to get you hot and sweaty and allow you to put your newfound skills into practice. CFE is the magic sauce that will give you the chance to turn your weakness into your strength.

Each week there will be a blog post detailing the CFE programming for the week. These classes will be run in the front room and limited to 8ppl. Two of these classes will be CrossFit Endurance/Engine Work focused. If your ENGINE needs some tuning, or if you are training for an endurance event, these classes will be very useful.  CFE will replace the CrossFit Skills and Rookie classes and these session will count as part of your membership session allocation.

Stay tuned for week 1 of the new CFE programming.
