CrossFit Carnival, Metcon Madness, Burgers and Beer

Posted 1st July 2019 by Jenna Fisher

There will be a friendly in-house competition and social event on Saturday 10th August at 1.15pm.

You can enter one of four categories: CrossFit Advanced, CrossFit Intermediate, CrossFit Novice, Metconner (for members who do not do CrossFit).

Please email [email protected] to register your interest, stating which category you think you will be in. (The workouts will be posted a few weeks before the competition so you will have the opportunity to change your group if you need to).

Once the details have been finalised, you will be able to sign in on Teamup.

You can use the list below as a rough guideline for registering your interest. (This might be adjusted, if needed, to better suit).

Advanced – if you can do a 100kg(m) / 70kg(f) power clean

Intermediate – if you can do a 70kg/45kg power clean

Novice – if you can do a 40kg/30kg power clean

Metconner – for anyone who does metcon classes (you do not need any CrossFit experience)

Since there will be a winner announced for each workout, you can enter a different category for the gymnastics workout than for the other workout if you need to. For example, you could enter intermediate for the gymnastics workout and advanced for the other workout.

You can use the list below as a rough guideline:

Advanced – muscle ups and HSPU

Intermediate – chin-ups(m), dips(m), push-ups(f)

Novice – ring rows and push-ups on a 20″ box

Metconners – n/a

There will be an individual, partner, and team workout, so plenty of opportunity to mingle with your mates and make a few new ones.

Workout 1 – individual (enter as either advanced, intermediate, novice or metcon)

Workout 2 – in pairs (enter as either advanced, intermediate, novice or metcon). Pick your own partner*

Workout 3 – in teams (allocated by me, mixed groups from all categories)

Workout 4 – in teams (allocated by me, mixed groups from all categories)

There will be a winner/winning team announced for each workout. Plus a guest appearance from Bruce.

*If you do not have a partner I will find one for you!

The competition is free to enter but you will need to bring your own burgers so that your dietary requirements are catered for.

The workouts will be posted in a few weeks. In the meantime, pop it in your diary and email me your interest 🙂

p.s. If competition makes you too nervous, you are, of course, welcome to join in the workouts and not submit a score. Please still register your interest, however, so that the event can be organised accordingly.
